Kindergarten

Welcome to Kindergarten!

Our busy days are spent learning our letter sounds, blending sounds to read words and writing sentences. We work on one-to-one correspondence and counting out a quantity. We are learning to recognize and write numbers to 20 and count to 100. We also learn about 2D and 3D shapes. We become independent workers on the computers during literacy and math. We practice sharing, cooperating and listening to become GREAT students. We LOVE Meeker kindergartners.

Our DLI cohort also follows the same schedule and routines as the English-ONLY classrooms. We alternate the language that we teach in each content to make sure that we have a 50/50 language model. Our week is broken into speaking in Spanish on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during non instructional time. We speak English on Tuesdays and Thursdays during non instructional time.

Meet Audrey Smith

Hello! My name is Audrey Smith and I am so excited to begin my 3rd year teaching Kinder at Meeker!

I am a Colorado native, originally growing up in Fort Collins. I attended Front Range Community College and the of University of Northern Colorado. I graduated in 2022 with my degree in Early Childhood Education. When I am not at school I love spending time with my friends, camping with my family, working out, reading, watching basketball and baking.

I absolutely LOVE Kindergarten and I am so excited to build a community with my students and grow as learners. I believe that education has the power to help us all achieve amazing things and that we all should be lifelong learners. This is going to be an awesome year!

Meet Victoria Ochoa Rodriguez

Hi! My name is Victoria Ochoa Rodriguez and I am thrilled for my fourth year at Meeker!

I was born in Mexico, I grew up in Greeley, and my first language is Spanish. I love spending time with my family, especially my baby nephew Emiliano and niece Cecilia. In my free time I do ballet with the Colorado Dance Collective, I love to hike, and I love to read.

I am so excited to meet your students and to help them grow throughout the year. I am also looking forward to creating partnerships with families and creating a classroom where students can reach their full potential in two languages with the support and care they deserve.

Meet Jenea Weber

Hello! My name is Jenea Weber. My husband Jay and I have two sons who are in 4th and 7th grade, and a brand new baby girl. We have two pups, Tilly & Eevee that complete our family.

When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with friends and family, playing in the mountains, golfing, paddle boarding, and watching my boys play lacrosse and hockey.

Meeker has been my home for the last 5 years and I am so excited to be teaching kindergarten again this coming year. When I say “home” it is because I mean it. Meeker students and staff are like family, and that is my favorite part of being a Mountain Lion. I believe that ALL students have genius and I enjoy nothing more than helping them learn and grow each day.

Meet Noheli Batres

My name is Noheli Batres and this will be my sixth year teaching.

I was born in Texas and raised in Mexico. My first language is Spanish and did not learn English until I was 8 years old. I love spending time with my family! I have three beautiful babies (Camila, Matteo, and Ximena) that mean the world to me. In my free time I love to work out and spend time running!

I am so excited to meet your student and help them grow throughout the year. I can’t wait to see them develop their second language as they navigate the dual language program. I look forward to building connections with the families and help support you and your student.
